ABOUT ATTORNEY MARK DOBIAS

I was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1983 and have been a lawyer for more than 40 years.

I have extensive trial experience in state and federal courts throughout Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

I have participated in hundreds of criminal and civil trials and hearings during the course of my career.
These trials include jury trials that have taken from one day to up to three weeks. I have defended clients who were charged with murder, serious state and federal drug crimes and arson, to name a few.

I have obtained numerous settlements in personal injury cases such as automobile accidents and dog bite cases.

I also practice before the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court and the Sixth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals and have participated in many appeals.

I have regularly represented claimants seeking Social Security Disability at social security hearings.

I have practiced in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan since 1984. I was an assistant prosecutor and worked for a small firm. In 1991, I opened my own practice and provided legal services to a wide range of clients.

I regularly attend legal education courses to maintain awareness of the constant changes in state and federal law as well as to learn forensic skills in areas such as computer forensics and current scientific evidence.

I am available for consultation by telephone or at my office. In the event of an emergency , please call my office and my answering service will notify me.

If you have a legal problem and need help or advice,
contact me and I will call or meet with you within 24 hours.
